Approvals & Standards

Approvals:

    • EC (Conformity European symbol): The European Community sets minimum standards of safety and manufacturing quality, that apply across all member countries of the EEC. The CE marking is the manufacturer's declaration that the product meets the requirements of the applicable EC directives. The actual words signified by "CE" have been disputed. It is often taken to be an abbreviation of Conformité Européenne, meaning "European Conformity".
    • UL Listed (Underwriters Laboratories):is a safety consulting and certification company
    • FM (Factory Mutual)
    • Kite Mark: BSI checks for safety and quality of manufacture and Kite mark stamp on the products.
    • LPCB (Loss Prevention Certification Board): an internationally recognized certification body offering approvals of fire and security products and services.
    • VdS (Vertrauen durch Sicherheit), VdS Schadenverhutung GmbH is an independent testing and certification institution for fire prevention based in Germany. Owned by the German Insurance Association (GDV)
    • Intertek: a multinational product Inspecting, Testing & Certifying Company in UK.
    • CERTALARM: a quality mark for fire & security; an independent "not for profit" organization certifying the compliance of European products, systems, installation & service standards.    
    • MED (Marine Equipment Directive): An approval or authorization of equipment and product for Marine Industry.

    Standards:

    • BIS (Bureau of Indian Standards): national Standards Body of India.
    • BSI (British Standard Institute): Manufacturing standards
    • DIN (Deutsches Institut für Normung): German Institute for Standardization, German national organization for standardization.
    • EN (European Standard): a national standard in each of the 33 CEN-CENELEC member countries.
    • IEC ( International Electrotechnical Commission): a non-governmental international standards organization that prepares and publishes International Standards for all electrical, electronic and related technologies.
    • ISO (International Organization for Standardization)
    • NFPA ( National Fire Protection Association)
    • API (American Petroleum Institute): The largest U.S trade association for the oil and natural gas industry that provides technical standard.
